| A fast certified half-marathon loop
with two major hills. The first beginning just after 3 miles and
the second beginning at the 12 mile mark. Over 80 police officers
patrol this closed to traffic course along with 5 ambulances and
30 plus EMT's. There are 6 water stops all with cell phone
hook-ups to emergency services, each manned by volunteers from the
surrounding communities. The women's world record was set on this
course in 1989 by Ingrid Kristiansen of Norway. The men's course
record is also of world class set in 1986 by Geoff Smith. |
