A fast certified half-marathon loop with two major hills. The first beginning just after 3 miles and the second beginning at the 12 mile mark. Over 80 police officers patrol this closed to traffic course along with 5 ambulances and 30 plus EMT's. There are 6 water stops all with cell phone hook-ups to emergency services, each manned by volunteers from the surrounding communities. The women's world record was set on this course in 1989 by Ingrid Kristiansen of Norway. The men's course record is also of world class set in 1986 by Geoff Smith.
